I just returned from Highlands ,North Carolina where I taught a 5 day plein air painting workshop sponsored by the Bascom . The students were enthusiastic and did very well as we painted the gorgeous mountains , waterfalls and lakes of the area. Here are photos showing me painting at Bald Rock ; and the students painting the lake at Cliffside. We painted Whiteside Mountain ( a famous landmark ) and we painted at VZ Top with a maginficent view of 5 states . The mountains were breath-taking!

This is a recently completed commission done for Mr & Mrs John Goodish . It's a landscape painting ( 24" x 48" ; oil on canvas ) of a part of their 500 acre farm with their house and livestock . This is in the Laurel Valley, north of Ligonier,PA .
